Attention: a safety data sheet is only a small part of the chemicals law.

Safety data sheets are, without exception, part of the scope of supply of hazardous substances and mixtures and, to a degree, may be even be compulsory or useful on a voluntary basis with regards to substances and mixtures that are not classified as hazardous.

The registration of substances by the manufacturer or importer is the central obligation in accordance with REACh (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation of Chemicals).

In order to be able to export substances as such or in products to the EU, it is mandatory to have them registered in the EU in accordance with REACh Article 5.
